Funny, I never thought of February like that; instead, I think of March that way. Some years March is locked in winter and winter won't let go. Other years, March literally springs forth from the get-go with mild sunny days and green everywhere. Of course I realize that much of the weather depends on where you're located on the map, but here in Ohio, February means winter. That being said, THIS year, we are actually having a wonderfully mild month--a welcome reprieve after a bitterly cold and snowy January!

What a beautiful read, thank you. We had a small thaw yesterday, enough to feel some squishy mud beneath my snow boots, and play in a melting snow banks puddle with a kiddo; today, a call for freezing rain and fog. Funny that I never used to see February as the beginning of the thaw, always focused on March, when the crosses became visible and days were noticeably warmer. Since moving more rurally last year I have a whole new outlook on the month of February and its subtleties.

Spring used to almost come as a surprise when I was a city dweller, now I can see its little clues coming from months away. Gives a quiet optimism to the month.

Thank you for this morning read.
